Your Vehicle's Check Engine Light

Today's vehicles contain more than just the mechanical components of yesteryear. They also rely on more computer technology than what landed the first men on the Moon. The various electronic devices interact to keep your engine running at optimal performance. When any of these systems malfunction, you're likely to see a check engine light illuminate on the dashboard.

First of all, do not panic if you see this. If you just filled up with fuel, check the filler cap and make sure it's tight. That can sometimes trigger this light. If that does not solve it, then rest assured that your vehicle will go in limp mode the best it can until you reach a service facility.

When you seek answers, go to your dealer. The technicians on staff are able to read the computer codes that correspond to the check engine light. Then, they will fix your vehicle right.
